People often get confused thinking weight loss is only possible through heavy workouts and hitting gyms. But believe me, weight loss is more about diet. Workouts pace up your weight loss progress.
So, think of workouts as a tool that speeds up your weight loss. I have seen people who start their weight loss journey with heavy workouts.
And, if they are unable to lose weight and things do not work as per their expectations, they feel demotivated. And, this is the most common reason why most people leave their weight loss journey halfway.
Today, I will share my journey and talk about how a simple workout like Brisk Walking has helped me lose weight successfully.
Walking for weight loss
Many think that walking is not enough for weight loss. Yes, walking is not enough if you overconsume calories and walk a little.
If you know how to maintain your diet and calories properly, walking is more than enough for weight loss.
I have lost weight just by brisk walking and sticking to my diet plan. Someone, rightly said that weight loss is 80% and 20% workout.
I used to maintain a diet very strictly and hardly had any cheat meals in my 4 months weight loss journey.

Every day in the morning and evening I used to go out for a brisk walk.
Brisk walking is something that you need to do powerfully. It is different from casual walking. You walk with a little extra pace and in a concentrated manner.
I preferred to walk alone than walk with my friends and family. This way I used to maintain my pace and concentrate on my walk.
Walking 10 steps at least
To let my weight loss work in the right direction I used to wake up early in the morning and walk around 5000 to 6000 steps daily.
Then in the evening, I repeat the same thing and tried to walk at least 10000 plus steps daily. Then with time, I started increasing the total steps and even the pace.
With a strict diet and daily brisk walking, I was able to lose weight successfully. So, if you want to let your walking support your weight loss journey then do follow your diet properly.
It is not like you will keep eating in an uncontrolled way and walking will help you lose weight. Weight loss requires balance in life, let it be walking, dieting, sleeping, drinking water, or even resting.
If everything is aligned properly, walking alone will help you lose weight successfully.
Go slow
When starting up with walking, try to increase your steps slowly. Do not attempt to walk a lot on the first day itself.
For example, you can start with walking 4000 steps for some days, then week by week you can add 1000 more steps.
With time you will find walking 10000 steps daily is not a tough task.
You can count your steps using any step counter app or on a smartwatch. The tracking activity will help you build a mindset of walking daily and sticking to your goal.
